Victoria Riess first recipient of Preis für gute Lehre für Lehrbeauftragte from StMWK
I am delighted to be the first to receive the new Award for Excellence in Teaching for Adjunct Faculty…

…from the Bayrisches Staatsministerium für Wissenschaft und Kunst, presented by Markus Blume.
As a lecturer, this award means a great deal to me, since I am not primarily engaged in academic work. It therefore represents a new and particularly important recognition for all lecturers who, while working “part-time,” nonetheless diversify and enrich teaching through ambitious pedagogical approaches and intense dedication, thereby shaping the future of education. The award is a wonderful recognition of my experience-based teaching approach and the practice-oriented instruction within my course “Design Thinking and Innovation” at the University of Passau.

My thanks go to everyone involved, my Chair of Strategic Management Andreas König, Hendrike Werwig, and Ilonka Weinberger, the Faculty of Economics, the University Jan Schumann and my students such as Andreea Calin, Stefan and Lei Yee Nyo.
It’s a real pleasure to give back to my alma mater by sharing my practical knowledge and working with young students. It’s particularly exciting to witness the students’ personal growth as they work together as ONE agile team under creative and uncertain “pilot conditions” during the course. It’s always interesting to see how students apply their knowledge in practice and how they transfer a range of agile working techniques and actionable frameworks and tools during the workshop. It’s especially valuable to observe how they continue to use these skills beyond the course for their further studies and careers.
Let’s build “Bridging — Bridges to the Future” or “whoop it up” with the award to continuously improve the quality of higher education in Bavaria!
